This was one of the WEIRDEST books I’ve ever read…and I LOVED it!There’s no “world-building”. Nope, you’re thrown right in. At first, I was confused and thought I was reading some random gibberish. Then, I realized, this IS random gibberish! It’s some version of English, that much was familiar…but just out of my reach of completely understanding. What I felt, however, was not frustration. But rather, the author having FAITH in me that I’d get it…not holding my hand – just expecting me to catch on. And I did!The story within the story was fun and funny and adventurous and creative and mind-boggling. And then there’s the story outside the story, which though much shorter, was fun and funny and adventurous and creative and mind-boggling. I loved the quirky characters: Sam, Po, Dan, Dirk, Shatter, and Tren. I already miss them.I see no real sense in writing a sequel, but I find myself a bit let down that there wasn’t MORE and addicted to the writing and the world and the language that I so, so want MORE. If you’re able to let go and allow yourself to read a book you might not completely understand, I’d highly recommend this.
