On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street, #1)

On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street, #1) - Samantha Young SO FREAKING GOOD! :)Look, to be honest, it was going to have to take a really good M/F book to get me off my current M/M addiction. I would have been lost forever. But "On Dublin Street" was just what I need to keep myself balanced! It's not some sweeping, epic, original, thought-provoking, life-altering read. It's a good ol' romance book...sexy, steamy, REAL, modern love tale...where the characters actually talk like they live in 2012 (although, since most of it's set in Scotland, I have to assume modern-day Scots are portrayed correctly here! ha!)I laughed, gasped, screamed "nooooo!!!!", said-with-attitude "Oh no you di'nt", cheered, rebuked, and hoped for our characters. I loved Joss. Where it's not new to have an emotionally-unavailable female character who pushes away the man she loves (those are the ones who usually drive me crazy), what I adore about Joss is she mans up to it. She calls herself out on it. "I know I'm hardheaded. I get that about myself. I know I have issues a mile long, and I know those issues aren't going away any time soon." That's truth right there. And Braden...good lordy, Braden. Want. Want. Want. Want. Want. Some classic lines:"I never kid about blowjobs""I laughed harder, ribs aching, and then...horror. I broke wind. Big time." "I got a text from Braden. "Happy New Years, Jocelyn. I hope it's a good one for you." Who knew a text could be so heartbreaking? I text back...wait for it..."Back at ya." Yeah, I did. I did do that. I'm an idiot.""...the sex Braden and I were having definitely took a load off. Pun intended."Love it!So much fun. True, it is not all rainbows and roses in this book. And there are some emotional moments that literally made me ache physically. But, it just added to how much, as a whole, I enjoyed this book!READ IT!Additional thoughts & review posted at: http://loveaffairwithanereader.blogspot.com/2012/09/tag-team-book-review-on-dublin-street.html
